REGULAR TROOP MEETING

Scouts should arrive at 7:00 PM prepared to help set up
the meeting room, having in their possession their
Handbook, a notebook, and pen(cil). Attire is the full field
uniform (“Class A”).
Signups are now open for the indoor rock climbing “road
trip” on Saturday, February 6, 2016 and the Survivor XVI
camping trip on February 19 to 21, 2016. See ON DECK

register by paying fees with the Troop Scribe.
Patrols will meet to create their menu for the meal they
have been assigned to prepare for the camping trip as well
as a dessert to make when the Webelos Scouts from Pack
522 visit us in two weeks. Scouts by patrols should
continue to review Scout skills in advance of the Survivor
competition (sixteen days, guys). The meeting will close
with a game.

We have invited Webelos Scouts from Packs 522 and 527
(from which we have had members join us in recent years)
as part of our recruitment efforts. Youth are encouraged to
climb, but we may need experienced belayers as well. Note:
DRG recommends using directions to 1150 Porter Rd.,
Bear, DE, which takes you to the entrance of the complex
in which their facility is located.

Uniforms will be inspected tonight. Scouts and
Scoutmasters should review the Uniform Inspection Form

Current patrol badges for the Warrior and Brave patrols
have been ordered and are available for $2.50.
Current members of the Brave patrol may continue to use
the patrol badge (head and headdress / red and white) if
they so choose. Any Warrior or Brave patrol members
without a patrol patch must purchase a new one.
PANCAKE BREAKFAST TICKETS ON SALE
Each Scout has been issued his allotment of tickets to sell
for this year’s pancake breakfast. The event will occur on
the morning of Saturday, February 13, 2016 here at Saints
Peter & Paul UOC. Sell! Sell! Sell!
SCOUT SUNDAY OBSERVANCE

Troop 70 will observe Scout Sunday again this year with
our sponsoring organization, the parish of Saints Peter and
Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Be here by 9:00 AM in full
Class “A” attire. We will attend the worship service and
then, afterwards, serve food that we prepared.
CAMPING: SURVIVOR XVI @ HORSESHOE SR,
6:00 PM, Friday, February 19, 2016 to 11:00 AM, Sunday,
February 21, 2016.
Sign up for this trip by paying the $20 fee for food ($15 for
adults) to the troop Scribe. Patrol Leaders should extend
every effort to have as many members sign up as possible,
as the competition will be team-based until shortly after
lunch on Saturday. The PLC in February will assign to each
of the patrols one of the meals: breakfast on Saturday,
lunch on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. All those
attending the trip and are not one of the final three
competitors will assist in preparing, serving and cleaning up
for the Saturday evening meal.
We will cabin camp in Rothrock Cabin at Horseshoe SR.
The skills’ competition will occur partly inside the cabin, but
mostly outside. There is great need for adults to assist with
running events on this trip. If you haven’t camped with us
yet, this is an excellent trip to do so to get the full
ORDER OF THE ARROW EVENTS
Powder Mill Chapter holds its monthly meeting on the
second Wednesday of each month from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at
the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 143
Dickenson Lane. OA members are asked to attend in field
uniform and wearing their sash.

SUMMER CAMP AT SETTLERS CAMP IS COMING!
Troop 70 will conduct its annual week at summer camp in
2016 at Settlers Camp in Trexler Scout Reservation during
the week of July 17 through 23. More detailed information
will be communicated in future ePeacemaker issues, but
there now are on-line documents posted regarding the
tentative camp program areas at www.trexlercamp.
If anyone requires either a Scoutmaster Conference (SMC)
or a Board of Review (BoR), please make your intentions
known early at the meeting by signing up on the white
board and telling Mr. Dahl (SMC) or Mr. Ruhl (BoR).
UNIFORMS AND EQUIPMENT @ TROOP 70 EXCHANGE
The purpose of this program is to allow scouts the
opportunity to earn money for their boy account (through
resale of gear) and to give our scout families the ability to
get gently used equipment or uniforms for free or reduced
